Now based in Nova Scotia, Ian apprenticed in Ontario with glass artist, Greg Robinson and also worked alongside master wood and stone carver, Anthony Powell doing restorations and reproductions in Ontario and New York.

With a background as a traditional woodcarver, he moved to British Columbia where he further developed his skills and sculpted a body of work using Vancouver Island marble in a more contemporary style.

Ian continues to do restoration work and has adapted his skills toward intricate tile setting. He continues to create autonomous stone sculptures, private commissions and decorative pieces using the natural stone of Nova Scotia.
